Effective for sales occurring on or after October 1, 2026, McGrew Auction Company and its affiliates will collect applicable sales tax based on the location where the equipment is physically located and picked up by the buyer or the buyer’s agent.For equipment located at and picked up from our Seven Valleys, Pennsylvania facility, applicable Pennsylvania sales tax will be charged regardless of the buyer’s residence or the equipment’s ultimate destination. Pickup by a third-party carrier or trucking company does not change the applicable sales tax, as the carrier is considered to be acting as the buyer’s agent.For equipment sold from an off-site location, applicable sales tax will be based on the location where the equipment is physically located and picked up. The consignor’s residence or business location, the buyer’s residence, and the equipment’s ultimate destination do not determine the applicable sales tax.Applicable sales tax will be charged on all taxable amounts, including the buyer’s premium, unless the buyer provides McGrew Auction Company with a valid sales tax exemption certificate or other documentation acceptable for the applicable jurisdiction.Buyers claiming an exemption for resale, agricultural/farming use, or another qualifying purpose must provide the appropriate exemption documentation before sales tax can be removed from the invoice.If you need assistance determining which exemption form is required, please contact our office.Questions regarding sales tax or exemptions should be directed to McGrew Auction Company at 717-428-0922.As of May 1, 2023, McGrew Auction Company no longer handles or transfers titles for auctioned vehicles, trailers, etc. Instead, all titles will be available at Miller Hanover Insurance's Hanover tag and title office no earlier than noon on the Wednesday following the auction.
